The Brotherhood of Romena in the Casentino

From 1991 the gorgeous Parish Church of Romena (declared a national monument) and the bordering constructions have become the centre of the Brotherhood of Romena on the initiative of Don Luigi Verdi. Since then this suggestive place, near Pratovecchio in the Casentino, has had an exponential crescendo of share of people of every age. In the years thousand of people have participated in several kinds of courses, in the meetings with famous people, in the moments of hermitage, to the Sunday mass. The Brotherhood of Romena is so presented: “In this wonderful Parish Church two particular dimensions are present: the dimension of the essential and that of the walking. In the Middle Ages Romena was a stop for the pilgrims that here found rest. Today we still want to think Romena as a place of rest for whoever comes here. A stop to become more coherent with ourselves. A stop to find or to find again a personal contact with God in the silence, in the listening and in the sharing. A stop to take again and to continue the personal walking of the own growth.”
